SIX COUNTY CHAIRS ENDORSE DANIELS
REPUBLICAN CALLS FOR "REAGAN REVOLUTION"
Randy A. Daniels, candidate for the Republican and
Conservative nomination for Governor, received the endorsement of five
Republican County Chairs and one Conservative Chair at an afternoon news
conference in Syracuse.
Flanked by supporters from throughout the region, Daniels,
the former New York Secretary of State, received the endorsement of the
Republican County Chairs of Allegany, Cayuga, Jefferson, Onondaga, and Oswego
Counties, as well as, the Conservative Party Chair of Jefferson County. The news
conference was held at the headquarters of the Onondaga County Republican Party
in downtown Syracuse.
"New York is at a crossroads, Republicans and Conservatives
need a candidate for Governor who stands for common sense conservative values
and I am that candidate." said Daniels, a resident of New York City.
Continuing, Daniels said: "Eliot Spitzer feels he can prosecute his way to
prosperity, well, he's wrong. New York needs a good old fashioned Ronald Reagan
revolution and I plan to give it one."
Bob Smith the Onondaga GOP Chairman said: "I am endorsing
Randy Daniels because, when you look at the facts, he is the only candidate in
the race who has the experience needed to lead this state. When it comes to
creating jobs, boosting economic development, reforming education and responding
to acts of terrorism, Randy has been tested time and again. Randy Daniels has
what it takes to be Governor."
"Randy Daniels has been to Oswego County repeatedly, as
Secretary of State and as a candidate." Said George Williams, GOP Chair, "When
he was Secretary of State he worked to preserve and improve our waterfront and
to make sure our first responders had the equipment needed in case of a
terrorist attack. He understands the problems we face in Central New York and
he has a proven record of delivering for us. Randy Daniels will be a great
Governor for all New Yorkers. Oswego County Republicans know and trust Randy
Daniels, and that's why we're endorsing him today."
Sandra Corey, Jefferson County Republican Chair said: "Over
the past month I've talked to Republican after Republican in Jefferson County
and they say on every issue they agree with Randy Daniels. Well, personally, I
do too and that's why I'm endorsing him today."
Cayuga County Chair Cherl Heary said: "When he was Secretary
of State Randy Daniels visited every county in New York. Whether you're a farmer
or live in the inner-city, Randy Daniels understands your problems, he has
common sense solutions, and I know he'll never stop fighting for what's right.
We need him as our next Governor."
Allegany County Chairman Tom Hayden said: "When you hear
Randy Daniels speak, you hear a clear vision for the future of New York. He
believes in our state, our nation and our Republican principles. Randy Daniels
is the candidate who can defeat Eliot Spitzer and I'm proud to endorse him."
The Daniels' campaign also released excerpts from a letter
written by Raymond C. Carpenter, Jefferson County Chairman and Regional Vice
Chairman (Northwest Region) for the New York State Conservative Party. The
letter is being mailed to Conservative Party officials throughout the state. The
excerpts read: "Randy believes what we believe. He is a true conservative who
will provide principled leadership for our state. I am proud to endorse Randy
Daniels for Governor of New York;...I strongly urge all Conservative Party
leaders to back this outstanding conservative candidate."
At the conclusion of the news conference Daniels stated: "We
must leave here today intent on creating a grass-roots movement that will not
merely reform Albany, but will transform it into a government that truly
represents all New Yorkers."
